HI, Ive got a 1968 johnson golden metero 100 hp. i bought the old outbboard manual and a couple others i got at the library and i still cant find a wiring diagram, the wires coming out of the motor were cut when someone stole the controls and tried to steal the outboard.. has anyone had any dealings with this motor?? i could really use a wiring diagram.

I think the colors are almost universal, the critical ones are.
Black/yellow is kill.
Purple is switched power.
Grey is tach ( you may not have that one)

What about finding an old controller with wiring harness and just match the colors up.

That would work too. if i could find some old controls and just match the wires up that would work great. Im really wishing there was boat junkyards here :)

Re: Help me with my 100 hp johnson golden meteor

Noticed that this thread is a year old, but couldn't see any sense in starting a new one. Hoping to revive this one. I posted elsewhere that I'd picked up a 65 Cruiser's Inc 19ft Woody and it had a 67 Johnson 100hp Golden Metor motor. I spoke with my outboard mechanic (a local expert if ever there was on) and looked on around to get an idea of worth. My tech said they are extremely fast and powerful motors but burn gas at an alarming rate. I found a couple for sale for over $1,000 so they are evidently desireable. Would like to hear from anyone who's run one on their boat.
