Short answer... Yes.
You may find the gear ratio differs though. Should be 2:1 , but I can't recall if 1973 had 1.78 to 1 or not.
Fitment should not be a problem, provided its the correct length driveshaft to suit your '82 mid-section (ie. 15"(short), 20"(standard) or 25"(long)).
