Not sure how it happened but this weekend I found some decent scratches on the hull. I'll get pics up tonight. I won't be able to do a complete sanding of the hull and repaint any time soon. So what can I do to spot fix these issues? What should I apply to fill the scratches? Could I just sand, Primer, sand, Primer and spray paint the area with the scratches? What spray can Primer and Paint should I use?

Thanks,

if its fiberglass, get a gel patch kit.

if its aluminum, then you paint.

however post pics of the scratches, may not be worth worrying about, or you may have other issues.

It all depends on the depth of the scratches. Pics will help us to guide you to the best solution.

Usually rubbing compound will get out pretty significant scratches unless they are very deep

You mentioned priming and painting; most fiberglass boats are finished with gelcoat out of the factory. Was your boat painted before or you just assumed that your finish is paint?

Pictures will help

Got home late last night and couldn't get pics. I will try and get some tonight. I just assumed painting would be best way to restore it. I assume it has the factory gel coat.

No Title

Sorry it took me so long to get these pics. I had lost my phone. Here's what I'm dealing with. Seems like the last owner patched up the bottom of the boat with some weak stuff and it's coming off exposing this mess

Typical wear from beaching.

Unless it's deep, and one spot looks like it could be, it's just a cosmetic issue and doesn't need any attention until you have the opportunity to do more.

Put a keel guard on it and go boating
