I just bought a new-to-me boat with a '95 Merc 25hp 2-stroke outboard and I forgot to ask the previous owner what the fuel/oil ratio should be for that motor. This is my first Merc., having been a lifelong Evinrude/Johnson owner.
I've got the boat packed and ready to head to the ramp, was gonna stop for fuel...and then I realized...I CAN'T FUEL UNTIL I KNOW !!

Please help !

I'm guessing that most outboards after 1978 use a 50:1 ratio. I just need to make sure it's not 25:1 or 40:1.
Anyone? Answers?

would be 50:1 that engine may have oil injection and no need to premix

it would have a oil tank under the engine cover and a sigth glass slowing oil level in tank

Thank you for the ratio. It's not oil injected, no tank on the motor or seperate oil injection pump. Good old fashioned pour the oil in the fuel tank kinda motor.
50:1.....got it! Thank you.
