Steve... I'm sure that others will jump in here, listing specific places where you can order those old parts.

Also, there are many of us (usually retired) that still have various parts (not all) left in our remaining stock that could help. However, we would need to know exactly what one needs along with the part number if possible.

I may be of no help whatsoever on those parts, but then again, it's worth a shot. Does your engine need a rebuild or a tune-up? If compression is good, chances are you can do a few routine maintenance things and have a solid runner. Many parts, such as ignition components, waterpump impellers, tank rebuild kits (for pressure tanks), carb kits, some gaskets, etc. are readily available. NAPA carries a lot of those parts, as does your local Johnrude dealer. Biggest issue is getting the lug behind the counter to dust off the old parts books/microfiche to look up the part numbers! Many of them don't realize that the 1957 18hp shares a lot with the later 18s, 20s and 25s up into the 1970s.

Let us know what you need and we'll get you pointed in the right direction...

- Scott

Steve,

Have you tried some of the online outfits (such as iboats or this one http://outboardparts.com/omc/mall/omc.htm ?).

I have a 1959 35 hp Evinrude and my dealer in Post Falls ID had an impeller and carburetor rebuild kit on the shelf this spring. It was about 20 bucks or so for each. Duncan Marine Service 208-773-2614.

I think that many of the high wear parts are available, but it depends on how dedicated the Service/Parts supplier is to the older outboards.

TE

I just bought a complete gasket set for my 1958 JOhnson from
benren@mhcable.com
He usually has anything I need. Try him. His prices are very reasonable and he has lots of old NOS parts.
