I'm looking for a long shaft and shift rod extension for a 1959, v-4, 50hp, Evinrude Starflite. I'm restoring one that I bought locally. But, it was a short shaft and I need a long. I've got all the other parts, except the shaft itself and the extension for the shift rod.
If anyone has one they'd take some cash for, please let me know.

Thanks

I think I have the driveshaft. You might check to see if a dealer can get the shift shaft extension.

Let me look and make sure I still have it. I converted my Fatty to shortshaft in 1976 or so, so the driveshaft has travelled extensively with me.

Re: Help!! Need some parts.

Can anyone tell me if the drive shaft (shaft from head to lower unit) for a 1959 Evinrude 50hp, Model 50519 might be the same as the drive shaft for a 30-35hp Lark. Don't know the year of the Lark, sorry.

Thanks

Not the same. Nor is it the same as the larger V-4 engines (75hp, etc) The V4-50 was only made for 2 years, 1958-59. They did use the lower unit on a very few late-1960's 60 & 65hp motors as a "Heavy Duty" option.

Re: Help!! Need some parts.

OK, I have it. Let's make sure it is exactly what you need. It is 32-1/8 inches long overall. It is about 20-3/4 inches long from the top of the impeller to the crankshaft end spline. The splines on both ends have 4 male lobes and are 2 inches long.

If that is correct, and you want it PM me.
