Help!!! No Spark 1975 75HP CHRYSLER WITH NEW CDI PACK

Hello,
Im New to outboards my dad has had this boat 1975 75hp Chrysler sitting for atleast 25 years and I just started working on it about a year ago. it Compresson tested good,it has new plugs,impeller gear oil, cleaned the terminal block and key switch, I've replaced my cd ignition pack and coil with the new CDI version also have the pre amp dist..Im still not getting spark though.

Outboardignition has the troubleshoot guide.

Check that you have 12VDC at the blue wire at distributor. This is 12VDC from the ignition keyswitch and should only be hot when key is in IGN position.
Check that you have 12VDC at blue wire that goes to CD box. This wire should be hot all time. It is charging the capacitors in the CD box.

To determind if preamp is bad, set the piston #1 in TDC pull plug #1 out and ground it to engineblock. Set throttle in idle position.
Loose the white/black wire from distributor and set keyswitch in IGN position .
Scratch the wire to ground. Each time you scratch the plug should spark. If it sparks the preamp is bad. If no spark check the HT wires in the distributor cap.
Clean and reattach.

BTW. It is difficult to see at the pics but it seams that you do not have a ground wire from distributor svivel to engine ground. Maybe there is a ground issue because of this. The svivel has grease it it and may insulate.

Thanks Nordin for the reply..voltage is correct added the ground wire also....spark test did work so im ordering a new pre-amp today. will post back after I get it installed.

Okay got the new trigger in.. we have spark now...engine is backfiring out the exhaust timing issue right?

Yes, sounds like you have to set the timing right.
First check that the curved line at the belt pully lines up to the flywheel rimm when the #1 piston is at TDC.
If not loosen the distributor and adjust the pully.

Set the throttle at WOT and check that the #1 plug sparks at 30dgr BTDC. Adjust at the control rod at tower shaft.
Right adjusted the length of the rod between the tower shaft svivel and distributer should be 3/8-1/2 in.

Adjust the tension of the drive belt so a 008 thick feeler gauge deflect the belt about 1/4 in when the gauge starts to bend when pushing at a mid-point of the belt

okay got everything adjusted like you said it sounds way closer it tries to start but it looks like the starter disengages before it completely starts...

changed a few things on it now its starting and running but dies after 30s to 3 mins...took off the carbs and cleaned and rebuilt them still the same outcome but way easy to start and get going now...What else should i check?

It sounds like a fuel issue.
Check the whole fuel system from tank, pick up, hoses, prime bulb and fuel pump with diaphragm.
If the engine have been sitting for a very long time you have to change diaphragm and hoses.

Put a cheap inline filter after the fuel pump before the carbs. It will help you to troubleshoot as you can check if it runs out of fuel.
When you run the engine, have you tried to prime the bulb and check if it will it will continue to run?
If it does, the diaphragm is bad.

Okay got the fuel pump kit in and installed... now when it starts it runs till i turn it off.. I can only get it to start by popping the cam link off and putting it in WOT ... need adjustments i Guess?.... Also if the start gets hot after several attempts to start could it make it weak were it slowly spins or grinds with the fly wheel somtimes?
