Hello, I am looking at buying a 175, or 180 OB bowrider. Dealer likes:
1. the "cockpit only" boat covers- it has lots of snaps and it covers only the open front bow area, then over the windshield then to the stern. the side gunnels are NOT covered. is custom done by a local shop. Dealer feels these are tighter and since there is a pole in the middle it collects less water/sags less, dealer sez $500-600. dealer said to wax the gunnel tops to prevent fading.
2. the other type is a full boat cover that many of my neighbors have, covers whole boat, has no snaps (to snag you) it covers up the tops of the boat sides and the stern. uses shock cords down to the trailer to hold it on. Dont know if these have "poles" to hold them up.
Any "hep" on my decision??
Thank you.
