Hello all Im new to these kinds of boards so bare with me.
I own a Reniel 267 with twin Mer 165 (I-6 250's). Basially I need to rebuild my port engine it has some bad noise coming from it I'm thinking a rod. Question is should I just rip the motor out and buy a rebuild long block and if so can someone post some good sites to go to. Or pay an arm and a leg for a machine shop to rebuild it.
If anyone could send some good info my way that would be great.

Well,......
That's a matter of Opinion,+ Which Machineshop you're Friendly with..............

Another Option,..........
Your motor is the Exact Same motor that was used in GM Pickup Trucks of That Time......

Just as with the SBCs, or the 4.3ls,... There have been some Changes in the Basic motors over the Years.......
But,.....
If you can find an I6 that's for a GM Truck of the Same Vintage as your Boat,.......
It'll bolt Right In....... No Problems,....... Go Fishing........

I'm Pretty Sure that the GM Goodwrench parts guy at your local GM Dealer can sell you a Brand New replacement motor,......
Reasonably Inexpencively............ ;)
