Help on water jacket

Does anyone know how much water comes out of the water hole on a 1964 Johnson sea horse? I started mine up today and all that comes out is just a little bit more than a mist..I just put a new pump in it befor i started it...

I don't know the 64 but for most of them a mist is normal comming out of the exhaust relief hole at idle. The volume of water and pressure will increase when up on a plane.

I had a couple old motors ['58 and '68] like that and they never put out much water. When skiing behind I could see a nice mist.

The above posts are correct John....won't see much from the relief ports....but may pick up a little once the t-stat has opened. A strong mist at best.

By the way john you did service the t-stat as well when you changed the empeller, didn't you?
