Tried to take the tell tale nipple off and snap, it broke off flush with the metal. what do i do now? am I screwed?


the reason why the hole is so big is because i tried getting something in there to turn it

No, it's plastic. Tap a short bit of a wide screwdriver in there a force it out. Go easy because there is not much depth and the exhaust cover is aluminum.

Heat up a screw driver blade and force it in the hole (melt the plastic) let cool and twist it out.
If that fails, drill out the plastic and run a tap in the hole to clean it out for the new fitting.

can i get the exact size tap for the hole. anyone know what size it is? the screwdriver things isnt working. the hole just keeps getting bigger.

1/8 Npt. Grease the tap so that it will pick up the fragments. The fitting is OEM part number 321886 or Sierra #18-3290. http://www.iboats.com/Johnson_Evinr...08966203--**********.467520457--view_id.42252

National Pipe Thread (as opposed to machine thread). It's a tapered thread common to almost all plumbing fittings.

i used a bunch of pb blaster and finally it came out with a knife and needle nose. thanks everyone
