K folks, here's my issue, all week I thought I had running issues with my 54 big twin 25 hp . after removing cowl and pull start, I realized that I wasn't getting full throttle because the rocker arm for my forward /reverse shifter is in the way if the fin that opens up carburetor. For some reason, the pin on the shifter knob isn't falling all the way into the grooves on the rocker arm. It looks like the original rocker arm, same paint and all, just don't know how to get it farther back or forward to allow the pin to fall entirely into grooves, which then allows the rocker arm to be out of the way of the fin under the flywheel that opens valve in carburetor. Any ideas would be great, I'm no boat mechanic yet, but from the looks of it, I may be soon enough lol.
