dumb question ! is the oil mixture a 50/1 ? at this mixture it smokes like crap and fouls plugs quickley any idea

What year is the motor?
From evinrude.com
Q - What is the fuel/oil mix for my motor?
A - The following is generally true: 1958 and prior used 20:1, 1959 thru 1963 used 24:1, 1964 and newer use 50:1. High performance usage (racing) requires a ratio of 25:1. New engine break-in (not DI) requires 25:1.

Does it have an oil injection (OMS / VRO) system on it ???
If it does, are you also pre-mixing the fuel as well ???
This would make your mixture 25 to 1 if it is getting both.
Is it smokey all the time or just at start up and trolling ??

the pre mix has been taken off ! i have been mixing it 50/1 do i need to cut it back some

No. Don't go below 50:1
Search for "decarb" and do it. You could have a badly carboned up engine.

buy a can of BRP engine tuner with the hose, it will screw on to the schrader valve on the primer, follow direction on the can. old gas also smokes.
