Help Please!!! I have a mercury 500 thunderbold 50 H.P.

I just purchased a 1986 sea nymph that im going to start restoring. I have got the engine running with the help of my buddy. I have scoured varius websites, and can't find the year for my engine. The serial number is 3351202 or 3351205, the last number is hard to read on the plate. I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give.

50 500 4-cyl 3235063 3478002 1972 USA
