help please kill switch needed motor didnt turn off last time started

http://www.maxrules.com/oldmercs/Wiring/1966ona/30.gif what wires would i run to a 2 way on off switch so i can shut off ? if the tan and black wires touch that should kill the engine right? but would it fry anything with the key in run position? any ideas for a way to turn off the motor ? any input on a way of instaling a shut off switch thanks old 650 mercury thunderbolt 1969

any help please kinda worried about starting it i had to pull fuel line last time to kill it

You need to splice between the white wire, that system does not use the tan wire to kill instead it turn 12 volts on/off to switchbox.

i cut the white wire and turned over the engine with all plugs disconected except number 1 out and im geting spark with and without the white wire conected. how does that work ? any suggestions?

Take a tester and see if you have 12v at white wire all the time, if so there is something miswired.
