We just recently purchased a trophy pro 2052 as out family's second boat and we are experiencing an odd problem. When we first got the boat it ran 100% flawlessly and we had no problems but just recently we encountered an odd beep that come on as we start the motor and it does not turn off until we turn it off by key or over an extended period of time (somewhere in the 3-4 min range). this beep has kept us from taking it out in the past few weeks, but when we run the motor at home to flush it the beeping doesn't happen. The motor is a mercury mercruiser 4.3, and you have a solution to this problem please me know asap.

Thank you,
Jacob k.

Problem happened to me also. When I ran under load at a very low idle, it would beep. This was either low oil or overheating. I kept fiddling with it and fiddling with it to no avail. Eventually I had the water impeller replaced and that was the culprit. Under Load I think the engine will work harder esp at a low idle speed and cause the engine to overheat if the water impeller is not 100%. Now I just have the impeller changed at the beginning of each summer.

I had a similiar problem with my 2001 Mercury 150 Saltwater model. A few years back the alarm would go off if I stayed in the 2000-3000 rpm range for any extended period. After reading several articles and posts I found that this range of rps is the "Hottest" for 2 cycle Merc engines.

I had the impeller and 2 thermostats repaced for around $500, I did not have any more problems that year.

I just completed changing out the impeller and the 2 thermostats this week myself, I cannot believe how smoothly it went. The total job took me about 1 hour. Total cost $60.

I know what you mean same motor. I go out in the salt a good bit, I go through around 3 miles of brackish to get out there so I will change my T-stats every year. Just ordered a new set of T-stats and and a water pump kit from ibaots even with shipping it was under $60.00.
