Help please won't run under load

Hi all,I took my boat away with me on holidays and the 402 Mercury would idle OK but once unloader it would run for about 30 second then cut out.I did change the primer bulb so any help would be very thankful.

what have you checked? spark, compression, fuel restriction ( my guess, dirty carbs), linc n sinc.

Chances are the dirty carb is right if you have spark on both cyls. The sync and link only applies if some one has tinkered it up and is a misnomer that it changes through normal wear. Many shops use it as a way to inflate their service charges.

Hi all carby all clean found nothing at all could it be a electrical break down heating up.

Yes, it could be. The best way to test the system is with a DVA but in many cases the problem can be caught with a OHM meter, if you will giv me the umber off thr switch box we can give you the test for the system.

I have the Number on the swich box 332 4911.

This test is about useless without a DVA, sorry.
