Re: help please?

There are lots of chinese makers doing copies of more well know outboards ..all the smaller mercury under 30 hp are Tohatsu etc and Parsun are a copy of Yamaha...Often the tooling is sold to china when the factory has an up grade ...

Yes it wil. push your boat but not much different to 5 mph as there is not sufficient power to exceed hull speed ..if you do a google there is lods of information and videos of them in action.

In other words its a weak wimpy little motor and parts will be a pain in the rear, but if you just need a slow troller or your tending a larger vessel you would be better off with a 50lb electric trolling motor and a couple of deep cycle batteries....think green.

if I were looking to power a 14' aluminum gamefisher a 8-10 hp outboard will do just fine but 3.5hp...well like I said electric trolling motor would be a better option.

Think green? A couple of deepcylce batteries? That's not thinking green.....That's thinking FITNESS LMAO!! Unless you buy Interstate batteries, most would be black. LOL

Yea, that little putt putt won't break any speed records, but it'll troll that boat nicely. A boat like that, I would use a 10hp

Yeah it will troll real sweet if the wind is not blowing to hard across the small pond your going to run it in,

I had a bad experiance with a 14ft jon and a TOB 300 3hp, all I can say is they work well on canoe and on inflatables in the swimming pool, fast or big water is no place for a gutless wonder like a 3.5, find a nice 9.9 or 10hp and be safe.

Cool, I have a sears 10' jonboat and removed the middle seat for more deckspace,I've ran a 1.75 does 5.75, two 1.75's no gps yet but do like 10? they plane the boat ok,also a 4hp merc, did 16,and a 9.9 did close to 30,all runs where with one person alone.I think you should do 8 or more.Remember,Paulpro knows boating like Bo knows baseball, check you tube to see all motors running except the 9.9 no vid sorry:facepalm:check youtube, MrHukaspukas see this channel channel to see the 4,the single 1.75 and the twinn 1.75's running,I hope this helps, in the single 1.75 vid I'm with my 200lb buddy, thats why it seems so slow, pushes us good with both motors though, twinn 1.75 identical twinns same model # even lol,you can always get another 3.5 if its to slow, the other one will help with the hole shot and for top end speed.you'll go about twice as fast, maybe even faster:eek:
