HELP! Prop not spinning

The other day when I powered up after fishing I only had half power, if that. Rpm's were normal but the motor would only push the boat so much. When I went in reverse it wouldn't move at all. It also wouldn't stay running after I shut down to check prop. It would die after a few minutes. I don't know if these problems are related, but I noticed today that the prop doesn't spin freely like most do when I turn it with my hand. I can also hear a clicking sound coming from inside of lower unit and the prop won't turn to the left( reverse? ) at all. Any ideas as to what I'm facing here? Any help is greatly appreciated.<br /> <br /> Rocks<br /> P.S. Motor is a '71 85hp Johnson

Hi, Rocks.<br /><br />You sure are impatient. As near as I can tell, you posted your complaint half an hour before your question. How could that happen? <br /><br />I think your lower end is still in gear, and that your prop hub is spun. The clicking is over-run when turning the prop opposite the gear you are in.<br /><br />Good luck.
