Hello,

I'm seriously considering a 1991 20 ft. Hurricane Deck Boat. I don't have a picture of it but it looks like this one:

http://apps.facebook.com/marketplac...B_IDP-_-www-_-NA-_-NA&rfb_domain=fb.oodle.com

It is most similar to the current FD 196 4 OB. It has the seats that go right up to the front of the boat with a space betweenthe front seats and L seat.

Any idea of the draft on this boat? We need a low draft like 10" or so.

Are these old Hurricanes good boats? It seems to be in good shape. Is it likely to have another 15 good years in it?

Any thoughts or impressions of these old hurricanes appreciated.

Thanks, Doug

You can visit the Hurricane web site and learn all you want to know about these models. :)

The current Fun Decks look pretty much just like that one.

They show a draft of 10-13" with the drive/motor up, depending on the model.

With the drive/motor down, about three feet.

I checked out their web page and did not see anything on old models. Are they still basically exactly the same as 1991?

I have seen several of these boats over the years on the lakes we frequent, and the Fun Deck model's basic concept doesn't appear to have changed hardly at all. I really like the fact that they are one of a few(very few) that still offer all models in outboard configuration as well as stern drive.
