Howdy, Bigeasy. Welcome to the best boating board in the world.

1. Please do not include "HELP!!!!" or "PLEASE!!" in your post. It is annoying and contributes nothing.

2. Try West Marine's site. They may have marine grade vinyl, or try right here in iBoats' Mega Mall.

Good luck.

Bigeasy,

If you are looking for water and sun resistant fabrics go to outdoorfabrics.com. They have a complete line of marine fabrics. I have done business with them and they are very prompt delivering in 2 days. You can order on-line. The carry "Sunbrella" fabrics.

Darryl

Care for some pertinent information from an upholsterer?

You wrote that this is for the interior berth and dinette cushions on a 30' vessel. I would recommend the following:

Dinette - Use either a quality interior/exterior fabric or vinyl which has a rubberized backing. This would allow for someone to sit at the dinette with a damp/wet bathing suit without allowing water to get into the foam cushion & wooden base (if there is one). If the cushions are removable, I recommend going fabric on one side and vinyl on the other. This will allow you to flip the cushion in the event that someone is too wet to be sitting on cloth. Also, have the foam wrapped in "slip eeze". This is a very thin layer of plastic that will keep water from coming in contact with the foam. It's very inexpensive and actually makes stuffing the foam into the cushion very easy.

Berth - Cover these cushions in whatever you like. I recommend a soft chenille fabric or polished cotton. It makes for a very nice set and water intrusion shouldn't be a factor. When doing the upholstery in a V-berth, there are compound angles to sew, so make your pattern out of the old covers if you still have them.

If you can't find any fabrics locally that interest you, look at eBay as well. You can usually get left over cuts for a good price. You will buy by the yard (I'm not sure what your upholstery knowledge base is) and each linear yard is 54" deep by 36" long. If your fabric choice has a pattern, keep that in mind and get extra to account for that. Center the pattern for a quality look.

PM me if you need additional contact info (zippers, welt cord, etc).

Good luck!
