You will need two solonid switches. The blue wire is up and the green is down. WHat year is your 70HP, So I might be able to help you further??

Re: HELP = read the post stupid

I went out and looked at mine again, and it does have two selonoids. One for up. One for down....Do you have these selonoids? Are you trying to convert a T & T to your motor? The selenoids look exactly like the selenoid switch for the starter (Like a Ford)

Re: HELP = read the post stupid

I know this can be frustrating....I am pretty certain your T&T is the same as mine. I have no relays.....relays are switches I believe. I only have selonoid switches, and they are wired to the wiring harness. Have you had your motor on your pump tested? I would guess you could get the motor to run on the bench (Like a starter)

by the way, my selonoids are located under the hood..oposite side of starter

JimmyP..... I've looked at the PTT assy that you're speaking of. Sorry to say that there is no way that unit is going to physically fit a 1977 70hp Evinrude or Johnson. The pictures depict the electric motor and reservoir much higher in relation to the PTT main body as compared to the PTT unit you would need.

If you had a unit that would fit, and in looking at the pictures, if that's all of the PTT assy you have... you would need the "PTT Relay box" and it's related wiring harness that leads to the PTT switch assy, and the "PTT Switch" assy itself.

I still have a new assy in the box, in my remaining stock, but it looks nothing like what your pictures depict.

Hi Jimmyp,
From what your pictures look like, you have a t&t unit from a fast-track mid section, it won't work on your 77. You need the older style t&t unit that Joe Reeves is refering to.

I wonder why you guys are wasting your time on this rude jerk.

I takes him 5 posts to explain his problem, and then it's our fault if we haven't memorized all five.

Better that he goes somewhere else until he learns how to state a problem, and even more important, some manners.
