I come from a long line of tinkers and people who take things apart (and, sometime, put them back together). Last fall, my uncle passed away and left me - among other things - a 5 gallon plastic bucket full of parts. I have finally gotten around to going through the bucket and have happily discovered that the parts are a completely disassembled Neptune 17B1 motor.
Everything, except the fuel tank cap, appears to be in place. This will be my first outboard repair (or reassembly) and need some serious help! Most of the assembly is intuitive but I need to know some specific things. For example, how should the piston be oriented, how are the fuel lines connected, and what can I use to make new gaskets ... or can they be bought somewhere?
Any help or direction will be appreciated.
Good to be here.

Alan
