Re: Help removeing oil injection

Are you having problems with the oil injection system? If not, leave it on. The Merc system is the most reliable and rarely gives problems. The only known problem with your system is the magnet on the bottom of the float in the oil tank. It falls off and gives a false alarm.

If you want to do something to make you feel 'safer', then throw oil in the main tank at a ratio of 200:1... Then boat happily in the knowledge that you are all safe from the nasty oil injection gods.

Re: Help removeing oil injection

To be honest i haven't had it out yet i bought it late last fall after freeze up and new it had starter and T&T problems had those fixed and checked for other problems have been told everything is good to go now. I planned on mixing some oil to the gas and thanks for you mixture suggestion i wasn't sure as to how much extra would be good and i plan on carrying extra oil in the boat just in case. Do know if regular carb cleaner that is used in cars and trucks will help keep my motor clean or would they damage my fuel lines

Go to any Merc dealer and he'll put you onto a fuel stabilizer and conditioner that's suitable for your requirements.

I won't use an automotive carb cleaner. If you want to use something 'non-Merc' then the best suggestion would be 'Sea-foam'.
