Help saving pics

I used to save all of my pics in JPG. Now it automatically saves them as bitmap. How can I make it go back to saving in JPG?

What program are you using? In most I've seen, you go to 'save as' and pick save as jpeg. If you are selecting the pictures to save in the program you use to download from the camera, there should be a default selection somewhere in the program.

This is just pictures that are borrowed, like off of webshots. All of them used to go to jpeg and now they all go bitmap.
