Re: Help!!! Steering

hey email me, i have these motors and have converted them....

but.... you will need a standard steering cable, and a tilt tube adaptor, you can buy these here at iboats or have a shop fabricate you one, they simply attach the tilt tube to the transom where the engine bolts are.....new ones are about 125 here, and about half that at seatemp.com , sorry to all you loyal iboats.com guys, buy sometimes its cheaper to go elswhere...

here is a link... steering at iboats.com as you can see, this steering kit is VERY BASIC....i had one made buy a friend in a welding shop....save my 125 dollar$ for ga$

Re: Help!!! Steering

technically , yes.... seatemp.com sells the REAL ones for 77 dollars, or make your own. i saw a guy on ebay with a 1971 50hp and he used a 1" square aluminum tubing, cut to just the length of his tilt tube, placed the tilt tube inside it and bolted the square tubing to the transom.....

just make sure what ever you do, you do it good and strong...you could have any welding shop weld the tilt tube to the front of your motor, permanantly, for 20bucks
