Hi,
I have a 50's (?) Evinrude Fleetwin 7.5. Last weekend we swamped the boat and the motor was submerged. Following the owners manual here is what I have done so far.

- removed and cleaned carb, fuel bowl
- removed plugs, cleaned and dried
- with manifold down, cycled motor and let water run out.
- removed starter and let points dry out
- with compressor and air hose, air dried ignition components
- squirt oil in the cylinders and rotated engine. repeated several times.

At this point I have no spark. Last night I sprayed the ignition parts with WD40 to dissipate the water. Have not checked for spark again, but will tonight.

Unless anyone has any other ideas, I am going to take the flywheel off and attempt to dry the ignition parts out further. How do I get the flywheel off. I loosened the crankshaft nut but cant seem to get the flywheel off. I have a parts motor and as a last resort I could switch the magneto, flyweel and ignition. If I can only get the flyweel off. Sorry for the long post. Anyone got any suggestions?

Gratefully - Doug
