Hi Folks,
The mortor is 86 Mercury 115hp 2 stroke. The center (main) hydraulic piston developed a small leak of fluid, so my buddy and I took the piston out, ordered a rebuild kit for O-ring replacement. We found the O-ring around the scraper at end cap has a few cracks and try to replace it. However, we can not remove the rod end. We used a grinder wrench to turn it but it won't budge and busted the wrench. So we managed replacing scraper O-ring by heating it in hot water, stretched and slided it throug the rod. We can't replace the inner O-ring since the rod end still in place. After assemble it back, filled the fluid and tried to raise the piston, it was leaking bad. It leaks between the shaft and end cap.
What did we do wrong? The inner O-ring needs to be replaced?
Is the thread of rod end a reverse thread? We can't remove it by doing a normal thread rotation and why on Seloc manual, page 10-36, pic 17 stating "rotateing the rod end COUNTERCLOCKWISE until it is free." How to remove the rod end so we can replace the inner O-ring on picture 18?
Thanks for your advice/input.
