HELP!! throttle wires??

I know I should search but by the time you read this I'll be covered in fiberglass working on the boat so I can take it out this wknd lol. I figured out my ignition wiring on my late 80's evinrude 28 spl but I'm not quite sure where on the ignition the two wires go that are connected to the throttle. The wires are attached to one another and I'm guessing one goes to a ground, but not sure which or where the other goes. HELP!!!.....please

its a black with blue stripe wire and a black wire running off of the throttle.

Black is ground. No idea about the other, since black w/ blue stripe doesn't correspond to any std OMC wire standard in the control unit.

And I don't know why I was thinking it was black with a blue strip...lol. Both of the wires are black so I presume they are both go to the engine ground on the ignition?

Yeah didn't think of that...could be. But then wouldn't one of the wires need to go to the raised magneto terminal on the ignition?

So I'm not seeing why it would be two negative wires coming off of the throttle. Any ideas?

Sooo.. I'm guessing one of the wires is the safety neutral switch so a previous owner must have changed the yellow/red wire to a black one. Now i just got to figure out which one, or if it matters...?

That won't matter.

Most likely stop/kill switch
One black to ground.
One Black/(yellow) to go into black yellow coming from power pack.
