Help Timing a 1983 3.0

Can someone please tell me where the timing marks/indicator is on a 1983 mercruiser 3.0. Also I have looked through the adults only section for the timing specs and can not locate for a model this old. I know it says 1 degree for electronic but those kind advance themselves. Mine is a points style.

Ayuh,.... In the Merc Info section of the Adults Only,...

Download the Manual for yer motor, 'n drive...

The timin' spec's are in the motor manual...

Thank you so much Don. That just save me a lot of time. I have the points set at .018 and I wasnt aware that it was .022.

Gap is just a starting point. You need to final adjust to get the dwell within specs.
