Attached is a picture of the parts I have. I took off the housing attached with the two hoses and though I should take off the rectangular piece you see in the picture. Bad Idea the whole thing flung out at me and now I'm not sure what goes where I'm sure I have the plastic piece in the whole in the right direction I think that the other plastic piece sits on top of that flat side down with the ball side that should sit in one of the two springs but which spring goes where. I also put my thermostat in boiling water and the little pin on the end came right out. Plus do I need a new gasket for that part or is the old one ok to use. Or is some high temp gasket maker good enough...

Ok first off, you will need new gaskets, old ones are no good. Clean the gasket surfaces without scratching or gouging, and when time apply gasket sealing compound to either side of the gasket then apply gasket. If im seeing ur pic correctly, I see the pressure relief valve, the the t stat, am unsure of what that pin is though. I believe the larger spring is for the relief valve.

The little pin is from the Tstat when I put it in the boiling water the little white dot you see in the Tstat pushed it out and actually that same white dot has failed to retract so I'm figuring that my Tstat is shot which is what caused my overheating to begin with. I'm unsure of which spring goes where it seemed like the thicker guage one was at the bottom by the Tstat but I can't be 100% sure as it all sort of flung out at me.

The vernatherm pin does not retract by itself. You have to push it back down.

The vernatherm pushes against the flat valve with the dome. The heavy spring goes around the dome. That heavy spring is what pushes the pin in the vernatherm.

The skinny spring is the pressure relief valve spring. Goes around the "X" on the pressure relief valve which is looking at you in the picture.
