Help - what fluid does this thing hold?

Can you tell me what goes in this reservoir? It's on a boat I want to buy but the guy doesn't have the owners manual - it's very low and I'm wondering if there is a leak - but don't know what it goes to?

It's a merc 4.3 mpi. says drive fluid or something.

Ok, I think it's the outdrive drive lube - what kind of fluid goes in here - would like to get some and add before we take on test ride and then test to see if it goes down.
