Help!...What kind of boat do I have?PICS!!!!

Sooo I bought a new(to me) boat, 18 ft. with a 1979 140hp Johnson o/b. Yes I purchased it without knowing what kind of boat it was...liked the boat, not knowing what it was, wasnt going to deter me. So now after goin over it and looking just about everywhere for some sort of sign of make or serial number...I have come up with nothing! So, here are some pics I took of it....hopefully someone will recognize the design and be able to shed some light on the situation. If it helps at all I'm pretty sure it started its life as a bowrider and someone built the fishing platform for the boat.

It looks like an early Skeeter. I can't believe that there isn't any hull numbers on the upper right or upper left transom? What about the title? You do have a title, right?.....

Ya I thought thats where the numbers would be as well(like all other boats I've had). Not the case. And yes I have a title for it but it doesnt specify the make of it unfortunately lol

Fireman I was thinking the same thing about a title or registration card.
Strikebombs, you might want to call your state's Boat registration bureau, and give them the Registration numbers. They may be able to tell you what it is.

I don't have the links handy, but there is quite a few websites that have tools to identify a boat based on the serial number and I am sure the serial number is on the title, right?

Im in Canada....and no the serial number doesnt have to be on the title here. Guess its different in the states?.....none the less...any ideas OTHER than using the serial number lol

It almost has the body lines of an older Stratos 174 Ski and Fish. Just missing the metal flake paint job.

My guess is Skeeter OR Checkmate made a few, however not many "other than go fast boats" the windshield is throwing me off?

the proportions look odd to me; I wonder how much is from home-made modifications? the bow rails and ladder look added on and the bow seating area alomost looks like it was cut out of a closed deck. I guess we needa word for boats like that, like we have "mutt" for dogs, and I mean that in a good way; some of the best dogs are mutts!

thanks for all the suggestions....been checkin out pics I can find of what you guys say it may be...havent really matched anything up yet.....and "Home Cookin" if she is a mutt I will love her just the same! lol but I can tell u it wasnt a closed bow...more likely a bowrider...part of the platform is removeable and reveals seating on either side and original looking wood "strips"(for lack of a better word) on the floor. Plus if you look close you can see how the fibreglass has a molded lip around the area.

x2. It looks like a Skeeter windshield pass-thru, but please don't take this as gospel. I know it's a Chevy however.

Theres a number on either side up at the bow thats registered with the coast guard....same number on the title, title also says colour (red/white), type of propulsion (o/b), and length (5.49m.)...so either all of these things are coincidences or its for the right boat lol
