Re: Help with 1980 marquis info?
Marquis was in business during the 1970's, building only small runabouts and Cuddies in factories in SC and AK. During their last years of production they made a bunch of defective hulls and ultimately went bankrupt. Stingray is a family run private boat company and they got their start by buying the closed down Marquis factory in Hartsville, SC. Some late model Marquis had a model name "Stingray", and the very early Stingrays used the most recent Marquis hull molds, thus there is some confusion as to who was who. But basically, they are 2 different companies.
Like most boat companies, the interior upholstery parts are made in-house to factory designs. No possible way to get replacements...they would have to be custom made. Most marine catalogs sell after-market seats and such. Just order an appropriate color and start from scratch. As far as covers go, if the snaps are there, any local canvas shop can custom make new pieces to fit the snaps. Even if Marquis were still is business, they wouldn't stock covers for that old a boat.
I do have a 1979 Marquis catalog. Don'y know how that would help you, but I'd be happy to scan the 17' Riviera page and e-mail it to you if you'd like.
