HELP WITH 91' 30HP. JOHNSON!

HI ALL,<br /> i don't know what to make of this. when idling along and (sometimes at full throttle)then try to speed up it wants to buck like a bronco. the RPM's goes up and down like a yoo-yoo. i can cut it off and sit for awhile and it does fine. i have had the carb apart countless times...clean as a pin! i felt the primer bulb when it does this and it tight. maybe float sticking? it seems not bind at all when i have the carb off the motor. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, LIKEAROCK

check your tank vent, sounds like a fuel delivery problem or a pluged vent

Sounds like your engine may be entering your overheat protection mode.How hot is she getting? Whens the last time you changed the impeller?Sometimes the plugs you are using can cause these thing to go into false S.L.O.W..Fits the profile . Check your operating temp.

hi all,<br /> i checked the vent on the tank and the prop but, found everything in order. hondon or anyone else would you explain what this S.L.O.W. mode is? i changed the whole water pump in may of this year. she seems to run cool. the plugs i'm using is QL82YC. any other ideas? <br />thanks, likearock

hi hondon,<br /> you hit it right on the nose! my motor isn't overheating but, the temp. sensor is faulty! that is what was giving me such a problem. as soon as i disconnected it things went back to normal. i'll call and see if i can find another one from the dealer. thanks to all who replied. ya'll are the best!<br /><br />thanks, likearock
