Help with a 1985 Thundercraft Malibu

Friend of mine and I are need to replace the impeller on his 1985 Thundercraft, however we are not sure what outdrive he has. It's older and markings are gone. He has a Merc. 5.7liter V8. and we know it's a mercruiser out drive, any idea what outdrive would be paired with this or how to find out?
