Help with adding a bow roller for anchor

I have a 1986 24 ft Sportcraft walkaround. All it has up front right now is a bow light and a couple of bow chocks for the anchor line.<br /><br />I would like to remove the bow light and add side lights instead, (no problem), and then add a bow roller for the anchor rope, but I do not have much "depth" on my bow to attach a roller bar - and I need a fairly long one to keep the anchor from hitting the bow. I am thinking of adding an extension off the bow. I thought of a pressure treated 2X6 or 4X4, but figured that would look pretty tacky. Someone suggested using some material they make cutting boards out of. Cutting a couple of pieces and laminating them together. Anyone tried this successfully? Or perhaps have a different suggestion?<br /><br />Here is a picture of the roller I want to add. (Or something similar)<br />

you could always use that "star-board" material they sell at westmarine.com, its the same cutting board stuff you speek of, and glass it all together and then glas thta to the bow and shape it and form it and make a bow pulpit about 12 inches or so. take your time and do it right and it will look stock, as well as increase the value of your boat

that stuff has zero backbone.. it's totally not meant for structure.. especially cadaleverin' an anchor pulpit..<br /><br />there's way more in this world than pressure treated wood..<br /><br />get a nice piece of mohogany, teak or WHITE oak N O T red oak.. <br /><br />lam 2 layers of chosen wood together.. <br /><br />rout/sand .. epoxy coat to seal.. lite sand ..then several coats uv marine varnish..<br /><br />now we're talkin' increased boat value..
