Help with an old 66 Merc

I have a 110HP Mercury ser 1935760, my solenoid clicks, I'm unable to find old parts for this motor, would a regular car solenoid work, and if so which one, the problem is that is a top mounted solenoid.

Well I ordered the sierra solenoid, and to be honest with you, I have no idea where they got the info from, now I'm $30.00 poorer and still needing a solenoid. They are 2 completely different shape, mounting and all.

Don't use an automotive solenoid as the marine ones on Mercs are grounded and a different animal then the automotive ones. JR

Send me a pic of the solenoid you need. Game over.

Before you do that... jumper your +12 directly to the starter (crowbar the solenoid) and make sure the starter works OK.
