Help With Carburator Cleaning

I have two 1988 110hp v4 Johnson's and I want to clean the carbs myself. I need some advice on how to do this. Im gonna buy the selco owners manule and was wondering if it was any help for this type of job? Can anyone hepl PLZ?

Crossflow carburetors are easy enough, once you get them off the engine.

You need two carburetor kits.

If you have plastic float bowls you should not soak them or the other plastic and nylon parts.

Tashasdaddy has a little carburetor thread here that may help.

Don't use rags of any kind when cleaning a carburetor, use pressurized air; a single thread can block the capillaries and waste the rebuild.

This would be a great opportunity to replace the fuel hoses leading to the carburetor with the newly improved alcohol resistant hoses.

my best advice is to pay attention to what you are doing on disassembly and to overhaul your carbs one at a time. That way you won't cross parts and the together one can serve as a model for the one you are reassembling.

Thank you guys for the advice i will be doing this on thursday i'll let you guys know how it goes. Oh and one more question should i buy the selco manule for my engines before i start this project?
