I was having some issue with my kicker motor I use for trolling , it would only run on choke and figured it was most likely dirty carb, so I ordered a new kit for it and pulled it off and cleaned it and I noticed something that I am not familiar with on the carburetor. There is a sort of needle like valve behind the a choke on the carburetor and it connects to the bowl check valve, I was wondering if anyone can help identify what part this is and what is the purpose of this. This part is not shown on the parts diagram on the service manual and does not mention it. I attached picture of it Thanks in advance to anyone that could help.

It is either part of the primer system or accellerator pump.Run cleaner through it or soak the whole carb. Also the valve you have in picture # 2 is a check valve. Make sure it is working and clean of gunk. Pictures show some gunk in your bowl. Probably an easy fix with a good cleaning. Be certain all of your passages are clear, reassemble, and you should be good to go.
BTW, FYI . In picture #2 that valve comes out to clean or replace.

I took these pictures when I first opened up the carb, and of course I cleaned it with carb cleaner spray and dried it with compressed air.

So that "accelerator pump" is it suppose to be a open hole at the end of it? because I sprayed it down and blew air into it and tried to run a guitar string through it and the string would get stopped at the very end of it,.
