Hi all, I'm new here. My name is Cec, short for Cecil and sounds like "cease"... that out of the way, I'm looking at buying a used Century. It's a 6000 model and I haven't fully decided yet... but I can't seem to find any information on this or any other Century boats this old. It has what looks like a V8 350 CI inboard and possibly a Volvo out drive. To see them, you can look here (For modem users, I didn't want to post the shots)

Here, let me help. SBN.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks
Cec

Re: Help with Century information

Thanks SBN... I should pick it up this week and have more information. The guy storing it said he thinks the engine is a 350CI Winsor, but I'm going to have to find the block numbers. My first guess was a Volvo outdrive. The restoration is going to take a bit, but should prove to be a good project... finding manuals and such will be a trial.

Did Mercruiser ever build a white outdrive? I know Volvo did.. I'm chomping at the bit to get it home so I can root around for numbers...

Re: Help with Century information

Where do you guys go to do a VIN check? The one on this boat is: CEB9T147M79E, so far it tells me it's a Century, hull id is 9T147, 1979 and possibly built in October...
