I just picked up a 1986 Bayliner Capri 1650 with Volvo inboard and aluminum trailer for $2K. Pretty decent shape except for the cracked upholstery.

Maiden voyage yesterday turned up an inoperable fuel guage. That is gonna bug the heck out of me. Is this common on this boat? Is this an easy fix? What are the first things to check? Maybe something simple like a fuse, where would it be? What's the chance the guage itself needs replaced in the dash? Hopefully the problem doesn't lie inside the tank!

Thank you all for your advice.
