We just baught a 6hp evinrude fisherman vin #6102g-j14395 what year is it and what is the gas ratio any info on the plastic starter gear where i can get one price and comments whould be great thanks

That's a 1971, and they're fine outboards. The fuel ratio is 50:1. The plastic pinion gear for the recoil starter is part number 0311189. You can get it at any Evinrude dealer, or order it from places like ishopmarine.com. Should cost under $15.

The first number is the horsepower, the second is the year in the 1970s. It's the code they used in those days.
