help with info on carb numbers please

i have a johnson 70hp, 1989. looking up part numbers the carbs should be 431982. but the carbs on it are stamped 431983 on the housings. what is the difference?
the tags are marked 432909. the jets are not what is specified either and i cannot find any info on this. i replaced the jets to the correct ones.

Nearly 30 year old motor.-------There is very little that goes wrong with these carburetors.---------What is your motor doing / not doing.---------And does the telltale hose come off the side of the block or was it relocated to the top of the block ?----Compression test done ?

i relocated the tell tale as per a tsb is saw on here, one of the carbs had a chunk missing by the fuel pickup tube. needing to replace the carb. weird thing is that the carbs had different numbers as to what is supposed to go on there and the jets were all the wrong sizes according to engine. i changed all the jets to the correct ones. motor is running good besides the messed up carb. just need to find a replacement and not sure whether to go with what is on there or what is specified
