Hi,

I recently acquired a boat with a merc outboard. It's a carb'ed V6. The serial number is OB199323 and the cowl says "100" and "2.5L Drag Racing". I am confused because I think this is a 2.0L motor. The last owner said it was a '93 but everything I am seeing says it's an 87.

Apparently it has been bored .30 over, so that would almost make it a 2.5 if it's really a 2.0L Just looking to clear this up. Also, if it is a 2.0, does anyone know the bore and stroke on this motor?

Lastly,
It has a nosecone with a LWP. Does anyone know where I can get a muff for this pickup?

Thanks!!

It looks to me like it's a 1987 2.0 ltr either 135 or 150hp

MERCURY (2.0L)
Serial Number: 0B199323 Model Number: 1150746

not sure if you can put muffs on there with that kind of a pickup?

Hi Bob, thank you. I found there's a sticker that says 150 under the "2.5L drag racing" sticker. So it's probably a 2.0L 150HP bored .30 over. If I knew the bore and stroke, I could calculate the new displacement. It has Boyesen Reeds and Velocity stacks too.

The pickup is at the very bottom of the nosecone, I am not sure what brand it is, but it sits on the very bottom close to the leading edge of the bullet.

Thanks again for the reply.
