Hi All,

Well I picked up my 88 Bayliner 2455. I know it was used and a few things probally didn't work, my own fault I didn't try or check the head. Well now it's home, I filled up the water tank. I have manual pump faucets. The one in the galley and head worked but I could not get water to pump into the head. I did notice that the pipe going from the pump to the head was broke but still no water or pressure. I did not prime the head and there is a level that the writing is wiped off. The head is a Jebsco. Anyone have any ideas? The main reason I bought this boat was for the head.

Not sure... mine doesn't use the freshwater system it uses lake water for the head... perhaps yours does too, and since it isn't in the lake....

Test it in the water and see.

yes you need to be in the water for the head to work. under the steps there is a through hull with a valve, it pulls water out of the lake....

OKAY, laugh you butt off all you want, I need to ask this. If the head pulls water from where ever I am then what is the "Water Tank" for, just for the sinks?

Well, let me put it another way.

Is there any way/shape/form that you want your freshwater tank to interact with your waste water?

Yes, the water tank is (probably) just the sinks/transom shower. In addition, you will also have a waste water tank, as you can't dump sewage back into the lake.

congrats on the upgrade. The freshwater tank is for the sinks and possible shower, like mentioned above. the head should pull in "raw water" from the lake. it then goes into the sealed holding tank after flushed until you reach a pump station. There MUST be water in the bowl to seal the holding tank below from air or the whole boat will smell like sewage.
