Help with OMC controls

I have an 83 60hp Evinrude that I control with this:

There is a 3 hole plug below the key, do I just need a plug for a tach (and the tach)?

Where might I find a model number for these controls and who might have a plug?

Also, I'm guessing the rusty piece "pop riveted" over the safety switch is not original to the boat.

I love the ingenuity of the plate over the SAFETY lanyard. Thats pretty good...haven't seen that one before. Seems it would be easier to just plug the lanyard and let hang or disconnect the wiring. Thanks for the pic

yes that is the tach connector. you can either hunt the plug or open the control and splice the wires.

I just bought the boat a couple of weeks ago.

Maybe I can find a lanyard. Evidently, a previous owner lost it.
