help with outdrive leak

I have an oil leak on the outdrive just below the trim rams and looks like it is coming out the seam where the lower unit bolts up can anybody tell me why and what to do to fix it. Here is a pic to show where the leak is and the flow of oil downward.

Looks like oil passage o-ring between upper and lower is missing or damaged.

what would be the remedy for someone to fix it themselves? Is it too difficult for a mechanically inclined person to tackle? What are the steps to fix it? and thanks again for all the help!!!
