Help with paint on wood deck

I'm new to boat restoration and need some advice. I have a 1960 Wagemaker Clipper with a fiberglass hull and mahogany wood top/deck. Below are a couple of pics of what the deck/floor looks like.

There are a few spots like this. The rest is like what you see around the chipped out parts. The paint seems to come off in hard chips like old house paint. The whole inside of the hull looks like this, with the black specs. I think they may have sprayed that afterwards to cut down the glare from the original bright white. Not sure, just guessing.

Anyway, should I completely strip the whole deck or can I get away with just sanding/blending around the bare spots and paint?

What kind of paint should I use? The sides of the boat look like the deck, aged stained and black flecked on the white. I've already scrubbed the whole inside with Dirtex/water and the above pictures were taken after it was scrubbed.

I've heard of using latex acrylic house paint, two part epoxy paint, one part etc. What's the best to use that will geive me the longest run without wearing out? Once the bench seat is back in I don't want to have to redo the deck.

Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with paint on wood deck

After further investigation it appears that the original paint is LEAD based. I will need to strip the whole inside.

Any suggestions on which stripper to use?
Has anyone used the LEAD OUT stripper? It says it's suppose to render the lead harmless during the stripping process.
