Help with Placement of Smart Tabs on Hull, Picture included

I just got my Smart tabs yesterday, my problem is that I just realized the trailer bunks hang out about 6 inches past the back of the boat. So I need to Figure out where I can place the Smart Tabs so that they will not hit the trailer or be damaged.

Here is a Picture, I can take more if needed and post later on today.
I am thinking on the outside of the Bunk boards is the only spot, but that gets up towards the chine. I think I need a better pic.

I'm sure no expert but it would seem outside the bunks is fine.
You can probably adjust the boat or the bunks so they stick out just enough
to properly support the boat but are less likely to snag and damage the tabs.

I would just cut the ends of the bunks off. Mine stick out about 1.5 inches and don't interfere, but it look like yours stick out about 5-6 inches.

The bunks do stick out quite far. I went out to the lake this weekend, still have not put the tabs on, was trying a different prop. Now that the boat is correctly on the trailer, the bunks do stick out about 5-6 inches, at least.

I will try mounting them over to the outsides of the bunks. The only issue might be that there is a built in Swim platform there, with curved areas on the outside. I don't think this pic really shows that to well. I will have to try to take another better picture.

Here are some photos of mine. Hope this will help. You may also be able to move the bunks forward 6 inches.

If possible just move your winch mount back a little so the bunks are flush with the hull, or just trim the bunks down.

Thanks for the Pictures, I can mount mine as you did, no problem then with the bunks as they are.

The trailer that I have for my boat, is for a boat up to 26 feet long, so the trailer is overkill, but its what came with the boat. There are brackets mounted to the trailer frame, directly holding the bunks, which would then be exposed if I cut the wood off. So this is a no go. Also, the Bow roller, Holding arm, not sure what its called in the front of the trailer, is as far to the rear of the boat as it can be, so I can't move that either. I can move it closer to the car, but that would allow for more bunk space to be left off the back of the boat.

I sent some pictures up to John and Nauticus, and has asked me to call him. I will be giving him a call and figuring this out with him on the phone it sounds like.

How long did it take you to install the Trim Tabs? My only problem is drilling the holes, lol I am not wanting to put holes in my shiny black gelcoat, lol. But I am going to do it, just gotta get the nerve up.

So how did the tabes do on your boat Nlain?

The tabs work great on my boat, they do everything advertised. Installation was about and hour after I talked myself into drilling holes in my boat below the waterline. Drill carefully, and after the first one it will get easier. Do call John he will help you, he is good people. I also got some marine sealer and put that in the holes and one the screws, I think it was 4200, I would not use 5200 as it may hold forever, where 4200 stay somewhat soft, you can at least remove the screws if you have to. Good luck with the install, you will be fine.
